Which though it were primarilymeant ofthe deliverance of the Jewes out of Babylon,where they feemed tobe not only dead but buryed ; yet the Apoftle appiyeth it clearly to the ranfoming of the body dead indeed and laid in the grave, by the power of Chrifl at the generali refurre6ion(1 Cor. i 5.54)For then 'hallbe brought to paffethat laying that is written,Death it fwallowed up of vit1cry..0 death where is thy fling ? Ograve where is thy Yittory. Yea Chrift harh ranfomed all thofe from going down to the pit of.hell,-wlao take hold of.bis ranfomeby believing. See that you have an intereft in this ranfome, . elfe you will never have delive- rance from going downe-to that pit. We read not all the Scrip- cure over of any ranfome todeliverthofe, -who are once gone downe to that bottomleffe pit. They that are in the grave shall be ranfomedand recovered by the power ofChrift , but they that goe into hell lhall never be ranfomed from thence.
