Elihu ufeth twoTitles or Names of God, Firft, theftrong God, the mightyGod. Secondly, Almighty, the Allfufficient God ; farre be it from the eAllfatffielent that he fhould doe any iniquity. He that bath all things in his power, and can command Heaven andEarth, heart and hand, he that is able to ftpply all deficien- cies in the creature by his allfufficiency, farre be it from this Allmighty. God that he should commit iniquity towards man. Strength without goodneffe is alwayes unprofitable, and often húrtfull. Goodnefs without firength isvery unufefull'becaufe fo weake. But where both flrength and goodnefs meere and center in the fame perfon, as he is able to doemuch good, fo he hath no will todoe evill or offer injury to others. How then fhould the Allfufficient commit iniquity ? The word rendred iniquity fignifies any crookeduefs or per- verfnelhe,any diflortion of right and juflice. Thirdly, bypunishing where there is no fault. Fourthly, by it. Ergenerati- not rewarding where there is defert.
