Verf.zo. without hands, and therefore they have the hands of thoufands at Command forthem ; 'tisnot their place to put their hand to the work, "tis enough that theygive commands and orders, 'tis the dutyof others to execute all their righteouscommands, and fulfil their orders. But the Lord'barb nor onlya commanding power, but anexecuting power too in himfelf ; though no hand move, yet his affairs !land not flill. God, and all creatures put together, are nomore then God alonewithout anycreature : Manyare ufe- ful, but none are neceffary unto God. Take two inferences from it. Firer, This ismatter of terror to wicked men ; though they fee nohand in the world againfi them, much lefs any able to match them, leaft of all to check them, yea though they fee all hands for them, yet this is no fecurity to them, this is no affurance of one houes fafety, feeing the Lord taketh away the mighty without hand, and he ufually loth it when they fee not which way any hand can reach them. It is the conclufion of one of the Ancients tnv:f :bltitèr upon this place in referenceto a mighty oppreífour ; He : rapitur,quivi- fbly ptdlddown, who did vifibly pall down; He ruinedothers with fbiliterrapie- hands, but himfelf£Pall be ruin'd without hand; he faro himwhomhe bat,Gregor. took away, but he/hall notfeehim who takes him away.Let them who. live without fear of anyhand, remember the Apóftles admonition, (Heb. 10.31.)/t is afearful thing tofall into the hand of the living God, who takes away the mighty without hand. The prote&ingand faving power of God, is as great and as effe&ual as his defiroying power is ; yea, he oftner faves without hand, thenhe deflroyes without hand. As the Kings of the earth, fo the great King of heaven and earth, loves to deal his favours, and bellow his rewards immediately with his own hand, but ufually affiicis and puniflieth by.the hands of others.
