662 Chap. 34. !1n Expofition upon the BookofJ o a, Verf.2 -to Thirdly , Note The Lords knowledge orfight ofmans wayes, io ieniverfall and everla, fting, The All- feeing God feeth all our wayes, and he feeth them al- wayes .Andhe feeth them all alwayes byone aßß, The Lordsview or profpe& of things isnot fucceffive one after another, but con- jun6live, all at once. The Lordbath a large eye, and an everlaft- ing eye, yea is all eye. He knows all things ; Firlt, part or that bave been; Secondly, prefent or that are ; Thirdly, future, poffible or that £hall be. Thus faith the Lord in the Prophet (Ifa: 46. to.) 1 amGod, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the be- ginning, andfrom ancient times the things that are not yet done. And upon this read the Lords challenge of all the Idolls in the world (Ifa: 41.2 r, 22, 2 3.) Let them 'hew the former things what they be, that wemay confider them and know the latter end of them, or declareus things to.come ; Shew the thingsthat areto come hereafter, thatwe may know thatyearegods. As if the Lord had fayd, if ye can tell us all that'spaff,.or any thing that is to come, as I can, then ye may take the honour of God,otherwifeye are but lyes and vanities. Againe theLord knows all things ; Firlt,with- out diltraction ; and iecondly , he knowsallthings with clearelt dif}inéfion ; it is nomore trouble to the 'Lord to fee all things then to fée one,ard hefeeth all things as ifhe had but one thing to fee. From the confideration of this knowledgeof God, let me give foure or five inferences for inflrui5ion. Fitts , (which is molt naturali to the text) if, the Lords eyes be aspen thewayes ofman, ifhe feeth all hit goings, then all the Lordsjudgements areright. The Judges of this world, may have a principle of righteouf- nefhe in them, and we may call them jut and righteous Judges, yet all their,Judgements are not alwayes right. For, as foure men are fo ignorant, thatthey knownothing at all, fo there are none fo knowing as toknow all things ; the cleareff lighted Judges doe not fee all that mayconcerne them in giving even among them foure may be blinde, and many blinded , tome are blinde and cannot lee muçh, orhersare blinded and will not fee all
