Verf. 23ö Hence it followeth , Secondly. flan bath no eaufe to complaint ofGod , or God hath not given any manany carafe to complainewhatfoever his fufferings are. Why fhould he complaine who bath but his right ? As God bath not given any man a liberty to complaine, fo he bath not gi- ven any man jute occafion, or a true reafon to complaine. If the burden of punithment beheavy upon any man, let him thanke his own fin, or felfe for it, he bath but his date fromGod. We are often cruel to and wrong our. felves, God is ufually merciful!, and never but juft to us ; yea howgreat foever any afiii6tion is, 'tis a mercy that 'Lis no greater ; and God can quickly make is greater, how great foever it is, and í1i11 be juft.
