Ephraim faid, (ter. 3o. t 8. ) Thom haft chalkedme, and I was chaflifed; I found the effeks of thycha(iiïemenr, it came home to me. What God will irk ork, no man can leuor put a flop to. Further , From the other reading, Note ; Whom Gedfees up, no ;wan can pull down, tillhimfelfpleafeth ; He doth eflablilh them for ever, when they are exalted. God is able to maintain his own ads, whether incalling any down, or exalting them. When God laid the mountains and heritage of E- tauwa/ for the Dragon: ofthe Wildernefs, (Mal. t. 3. ) Edom faid at the next verfe, (welI,I fee ) we are impoverifBed, bret we will return, and build the defolateplaces. As if Edem had faid, Though the Lordbath brought us thus low, yet we doubt not to recover our former glory. But what faith the Lord ? hear what in the next line ; Thus faith the Lord of Hefts, They Mall build, ( or let them build) but twill throw down. Now (I fay) as when the Lord pills down, none canbuild without his leave, fo whom the Lord exatteth, none can pull down ; He eflablifheth then: for ever, when theyareexalted. ThusElihu Pets forth the exceedingkindnefsof God te, and his care over the righteous, not only his providens careas to their prefent condition, but as to theabiding of their enaltation and the eftablithment of it for ever.
