Ñìr!f, they Chaff receive truegood ; Secondly, they (hall for ever hold the bell good, the chief good, they !hall not only fpend their dayes and years in good,but when their dayes and years are fpenr, they have good, and a greater good than any they had, in fpénding the dayes and years of this life ; they (hall have good in death, they fhall come to a fuller enjoyment of God, the chief Good, when they have left and let fall the pofleffion of all earthly goods. Thirdly, they that do good fluff find all things working together for their good ; if they have a lofs, they fhai! receive good by it ; if they bear aCrofs, that (hall bear goy d. Outward troubles cannot dillucb, much lefs pollute our fpiritual good ; for, All things work together for good to them that love God, who are the called according to hispurpefe (Rom. 8. z8.) Surely then the fervice ofGod isa gainful fervice,a profitable fervice;though the work may be hard, and the way painful, yet the wages will, be fweet, and the end pleafant. The contemplation of this put David upon putting that queflion (Pfal. 34. 12, I 3.) what "man is hethat defireth life, and loveth many dayes, that he may fee good (that is, that he may enjoygood) keep thy tongue from evil, and thy mouth, that it fpeaknoguile; depart from evil, and dogood. The Pfalmifl makes Proclamation, What man is he that would havegood ? let him do good, let him obey and ferve God, and he (hall have good. Again, Confider the Prornife in relation to the Perfons defcri- bed, verf. 8, 9, 10.
