Hypocrites will, firfi, complain much whenGod binds them ; fecondly,theymur- mure much whenGodbinds them ; thirdly, they will vex elfem- felves like Bull in a Nett, when God binds them ; Fourthly, they will rail and curie when God binds them : but repent, or pray they donor. Here was blafphemtng, but no crying, nc repenting, nopraying, no deprecating the hand of God, or the Judgment felt, in an humble and fpitiwuat way. Hypocrites cry not to the Lord, though he makes them cry ; they are readier to find fault with God,than with themfelves,inthe day ofadverfiry theyneither cry the cry of godly forrew for their ,fin, nor the cry of godly Prayers, forhelp out óf their affliGlion. They who are falfe with Gad in times of Peace,feldorn, ifat all, repent, or duly ap- ply themfelves to God forkelp in times of trouble ; the realen ts, The'Confcience of the hypocrite in heart, tells him, he bath dealt ` tt&a5 n:r barely:with God ; and therefore,when he is in fireighrs orbound; m°or a`áinure what face, whit faith, what liberty of fpirir, can he,have to cry to enervar.
