Chap. 36. ern E.vpoftion upon the Book of B. 'er<f. 24. 349 J O B, Chap. 36. Verf. 24, 25, 24. remember that thou magnije hi-r work, rabid) men behold. 25. Every man ma) fee it, man may behold it a far off. THefe two verfes contain the third advice, counfel or exhoï- ration given by Elihu to yob, furring him up co give glo: y to God in his providential proceedings with him. There are three things confiderable in thefe two verfes. Firfì, The general duty commanded, which is, to magnifte the work, of god. Secondly, We have here a fpecial reafon or ground of that duty ; the vifibility and plainnefs, yea, more than fo, the il- Iuftrioufnefs of his work. 1 he work of God is not only fuch as fore men may fee, but filch as every man may fee, yea, beholda- far of, Thirdly, We have here an incentive to provoke to this duty, . in the firfl words of the Text, Remember. Verf. 24. Remember that thou magnafie his work, which men behold. To Remember, imports chiefly thee two things. Firfl, to call to mind what is pail (Mat. 26.7 ç.) Then Peter remembred the words of Ckr;1 . Secondly, To remember, is to keep fomewhat in mind againft the time to come ; in which fencethe Law runs (exod. 20.8.) Remember there1lday ; that is, keep it in mind, that when-ever it cometh, or upon every return of that day, ye may be in a fat poflure and preparation for it; Remember the refl, orfabbath day tokeep it holy. To remember in this place, is fet (I conceive) ina double oppofition c Ficíl, To forgetfuinefs of the dutyhere called foe; remember and do not forget ir. Secondly, To the flight per- formance of the duty here called for ; the magnifying of the Rork of God. .Remo'00-
