The whole remainder of 6Yiko's fpeech in this Chapter and to the end of the 37th, is fpent in aphilofophical difcourfe about the Meteors,and thofe various operations and changes that are wrought in the Aire ; he di(`courfeth ofRain, of Thunder and Lightning, of Snow and Winds ; from all which works of God in Nature, E1ihu would convince fobof the Juflice and Righteouf- nefs of God (as well as of his power) which was his chief pur- pole. He begins this philofophical Lec`ture or Le&ure of divine Philofophy with the Rain, in the two verfes now read ; and he mingles much of that matter in this and the following Chapter. He fpeaks here,I fay, of the Rain, which is a difpenratiop of God rtfually both very profitable & comfortable;what more Profitable or more comfortable than the rain?It is allo a difpenfation ofGod fometimes very dreadful! and hurtful!: The Lord fends the very fame Creature upon contraryfervices,fotretimes forgood, lome- times for evil! ; at one time as a bleCling,and at another as a curie, to the inhabitants of the earth.
