Hence note ; The Lord can make the fame creature either beneficial or hurtful to us. That which is an infrument in his hand for good t© hisfervants, is often a plague and a fcourge to his enemies. The rain whichat one time moirlens the earth, at another time drowns it ; the rain which at one time cherilbeth the creatures, at another time choaks them. The winds which at one time fan the air and cool ir, at another time enrage and vex is ; thewinds which at one time fweeten and cleanfe the air, at another time corrupt and in- fea it.
