The are and tendernefsof God toward beans, turns to his praife, as well as the care which he hath of, and the tendernefs which he (he ws to believers.And as it Both exceedingly advance the dory of God,that he takes care of Wildebea(is, ro it mayex- ceedingly flrengthen the faith of man, that he will take care of him. Doth the Lord take care of wilde Goats and of Hinds, then certainly he takes care of chore that pa-ticularly belong to him ; as hath been already (hewed or inferred from fuch like in- fiances as we have here in the Text. Secondly, From the particular Point, upon which the care of God is here intimated, with refpe& to the wilde Goats and Hinds ; namely, their bringing forth and calving, we learn, that There is afpecial providence of gad towards thefe and Fisch like creatures, for the produUion of their piing. Sowe tranflate it ; but the word which we render fhaketb, is the famewith this in the Text, which fignifieth tobring forth: And hence fome very learned in the Hebrew tongue, do not render as we, The voice of the Lord fha- keth the wilderneft, but, The voice of the Lord maketh the wilder- refs to bring forth ; The Lord maketh the wildernefs of Kade(h to bringforth which is not to be underflood of the vegetative creatures (chat's a truth, the Lord makes the Trees of the Forreft to bring forth both leaves and fruit) but it is meant of animals or living creatures there : And then, when he faith, Thevoice of the Lordmaketh the wildernefs tobring forth, the meaning is, The Lord makes the w?1de beaft of the wildernefs to bring forth ; which feems robe the clear fente of the place, by that which fol- loweth ; for the Pfalmifl having laid this in general at the 8 h verle, The voice of the Lord maketb the wildernefs tobring forth, he in the gth verse, gives the fpecial in(lance of the Hind , The voceof the Lord maketh the Hinds tocalve.
