I 534 Chap. 4o. t/fn Fxpofitionupon the Book of Jo B. Verf. 6 And hence we may infer; 1 f the Lord fpeke thou toJob, and may fpeak thus terribly toany good man, once and again? Thenwith what terror, inhow dreadful a whirlwind, will god at laft 'peak to all the wicked of the world ? If he (pukeont of a whirlwind to a Yob a gracious godly man, what will that whirlwind be, out of which he will fp:ak to a Pha- roah, to prophane and hard-hearted finners I. As our Lord Jefus Chrift laid of himfelf in the Gofpel, If it be thus done to agreen tree, what (hall be done to the dry ? If God hath whirlwinds for his Jobs, for his own people, who are as green flourishing trees in grace and holinefs ; what will he do with the dry flicks of the tórld ? We read, in the 25thof Jeremy, of aBowl of blood given him to carry about to the Na tions r A terrible meffage he is fent about ; he carries a Cup of blood about, and bids the Nations drink, they mutt drink it and faith the Lord, If they (hall refufe to take the Cup at thy band to elrirk, then (halt thou fay unto them , thus faith the Lord of bolls, ye fball certainlydrink: Why P For lo, Ibegin tobring evil upon the City which iscalled by MyName; and (hall ye beutterly wopuni(bed ? As if the Lordhad faid, I have brought evil uponJe- rufalem, upon my own people, and they have drunkvery deep of that bitter Cup ; and do you, O ye uncircumcifed nations, think that you (hall efcape ?
