The c:iurfe or way of Gods difpenfati- on, isGods Judgement ; and 'cis called his fudgement, Fìrii , Becaufe it proceeds upon the highefl reafon, upon the clearefta&ing of Judgement and underflanding ; and in thatfenfe 'cis alwayes Judgement. For God io a Gad of fudgement (Ifa. 3o. i8.) That is, of the higheft reafon and underfianding in all mat- ters that he doth. Secondly , 'Tiscalled fudgement , becaufe oftentimes thefe adminifIrations are as a, fentence pronounced and given out by God , whether againft particular perlons or Dingdomes, and fo have Judgement in them , that is,wrath and punifhment..fudge- ment is often put for puniflhment. So then,thc Lord expoflulates thus with job,as if he would have croffed all his proceedings anddealings with him , or would have refcinded as it were the fentence and decree of God concerning him.
