6o8 Chap. 4o. 444 Expofstion upoo4tbe Book of J o a. Verf. i s. Behemoth or Leviathan, we haveother more fpiritual objeets to thinkupon ? 'Tis true, we have ; but we mul take heed of {lighting thefe objels, efpecially when God doch,as it wcre,tra- vel by is Spirit, to fec them forth before the eye of our tnind, in their utmol grandure and excellency. We fhould not pals the leaf work of God lightlyby, much lets fhould we fo pafs by the great works of God. We fhould not lightly pafs by the leaf} mercy of God, but think much of little mercies ; little mercies are great mercies tous, fetingwe are lets than the leall of them (as facobfpake, Gen. 3a. so.) but we muli efpecially confider great mercies, great deliverances, great falvations; up- on them our minds mul flay or make a land, and our medica- tions dwell. We are allo to confider, and well toview all our fins, our little fns, our leaf} failings, feting they have a greatnefs in them, as beingcommitted again{ the great God, and as being able to do usgreat hurt, and tá draw down great wrath upon us, if not repented of, and turned from ; but our great fins mull much more be viewed and confidered : And every godly man doch fo, he holds the eye of his foul upon the ugly face of great fins, efpecially, to difccver the deformity and iniquityof them to the utmol, that hemay be greatly humbled for them. So I fay in thiscafe, you are not to leave theleaf+ pieces of Gods work in creation or pro- vidence, unviewed, unconfidered, unmeditated ; but his great works, his Behemoths, you fhould behold, fiudy and admire, or behold and fiudy with admiration. when Iconfider (faith David, Pfal, $. 3.) the Heavens, the worm, of thy hands, the Sun and the ,loon, &c, This implyeth, that David did often confider the flea-
