The Prophet Ifaiah (Chap. 27:1.) fpeaksof the Lords fword, and of the ufe he will put it to ; In that day the Lard with hisfore, andgreat, and firong fivord(hall pu- rih Leviathan, thepiercing Serpent, even Leviathan the crooked Serpent, and be(hall flay the Dragon that is in the Sea ; that is, overcome the devil and all his infiruments,whooppofe and would deffroy hie Vineyard of Redwine, that is, his Church. Thus we fee how the Lord in all ages pall bath, and how we are aiured concerning the Ages to corne, that he will make that good con- cerningmyflical Behemoths, which here he freaks concerning the natural Behemoth; He thatmade him, can male bis (word ap- proach unto him. TheLord having thus far defcribed Behemoth by leveral parts of his body, and by his great lfrength or power, proceeds to defcribe him further, by the manner of his life, or by his meat, drink and lodging, in the latter part of this context, to the end of the Chapter.
