Verf.i 2. lis not (lightly, or perfun&olily, but like an Oratour declare all his excellencies ; I will not let flip, nor omit any thing that is mate- rial or conducible tohis commendation. So that, when the Lord faith, Iwill not conceal, he intendsmuch more than he expreffeth; As the Prophet alfo did (Ifa. 62. a.) when he faid, For Zion; fake will Inot hold my peace ; meaning, that he would pour out his heart, and make a loud cry, in prayers and fupplications for Zions fake. That's the import of his words, Iwill not bold my peace: As alto, of thofe (verf. 6.) re that make mention of the Lord, or, ye that are the Lords remembrancers (in the concerns of Zion) keep notfilence. The meaning is, fpeak much for Zion. A nun doth not keep filence, nor hold his peace, who fpeaketh only a word or two. But the Lords remembrancers mu(I fpeak to the full, much and often ; they muff urge him withmany arguments, and plead hard, till he bring forth falvacion in Zion. I urge this Scripture, as parallel to the Text in hand, where the Lord faith,. Iwill not conceal, when his purpofe was to fpeak copioufly and largely. And here the Lord fettethdown three things concerning Le- viathan, which he will not conceal Firfl, His parts. Secondly, Hie power. Thirdly, His comely proportion.. To thofe three beads, all that can be Paid of Leviathan is reducible. Iwill not conceal his parts or members. This creature is made s-o . up of feveral heterogeneal parts or members. The word rendred parts properly fignifieth the bar or bolt of adoor,asalfo the boughs of. tree : There is a great elegancy in that metaphor, becauCe . the members of thebody in any creature, are as fomany boughs (hot out from the flock of a tree. Iwill not conceal his parts. Bur, what are the parts which the Lord mentions, or would not conceal ? I anfwer, The word parts, in our language and common fpeech, fignifieth the inward abilities, and faculties of anyman. We fay, filch a one is a man of excellent parts, or he hath good . parts, that is, he is a wife man, an underfianding man, a well- fpoken man. But here in this place, the word parts notes only the limbs, members,and organs of the body,or the;feveral pieces of the whole compages or frame. of the body. Of thee parts, the
