An Expofition upon the Bookof J o s, which he had from the prefent appearance of God to him for his inftruótion and humiliation; I bave heard of thee by the bearingof the ear, but now mine eyeteeth thee. As if he had Paid, Lord,here- tofore 1beard of thee, for 1 was religioajly brought up; I bad Pa- rents andAnceflors, whodeclared tome who the Lord was ; and I beard many things of thee, which took imprefion upon my heart heretofore: but 1 never bad fach an imprefon as in this tempeft, I never heard god fpeaking thus immediately to me ; nor didhe ever give me any [tech vifible demonflration of his prefence, as he bath vouchfafed meat this time, /peaking out of the whirlwind.
