Fourthly, If ye are theLords fervants, as ye do the Lords work, and all work, and only his work, Co ye will do his work willingly. All the Lords fervants are free men, his fervants are fons ; they do not ferve as flaves, but as children ; and God dealethwith them -as aFather, more than as a Mailer. Confider, have ye a free fpirit for the fervice of God ? His fervants find chemfelves indeed confirained to ferve him,but they do not ferve him by conftraint ; they are confirained by love, not by bale fear to ferve him.. Fifthly, If ye are the Lords fervants, ye dohis work for his fake ; the will of the Lord is as much the reafon why ye do his work, as the rule by which ye do ir. Should we do never fo much of that which is materially the Lords work, unlefs we do it b caufe it is his work, we are not his fervants in doing it. He that doth the Lordswork for felf-endsonly or chiefly, is not the Lords fervant, but his own. Sixthly, If ye are the Lords fervants, ye- have refolved to be his fewanrs for ever; your ears are bored at his pof+, and ye have have paid (as the Cervant under the Law that loved his Mafier, Exoci. 21, S, 6.) rewill not go out free. It was fo with job ; he was the Lords fervant before his rrouble, and he was foat the end of his troubles. The Lord doth not cake fervants for months and for years ; we mutt be his everlaf+ing fervants, aiwayes his fer- vants, if his fervants at all. And this fhould rejoyce our fouls, that we are and (ball be for ever in the Lords work. To ferve the Lord, is better than to rule the world. God is fogood a Matter, that we (hall neverhave any,the leaf+, occafion todefire a change; and he is fo cure a Matter, that we need not fear ir. Laftly, Though the Lord Paid, his wrath was kindled againft Eliphaz, and his two friends, yet in the verynext words he is di- redfing them how to make their peace, and return,, or be receï, ved again into his favour.
