If there be farft a willingmind, it ie accepted according to that a manbath. Though it be little that we have,yet if the mind be free, if there be much of the will in it, though but little of the purfe (if we have no more to give, or give 'according to what we have) if there be much of the heart in ir, though but little of thehand (if we do according to the power that is inour hand) the Lord hach a verygreat refpe& to it. Fifthly, Tobe much in prayer for others, efpecially for thole that are in power over us, is very acceptable to the Lord ( i Tim. 2. 2, 3.) Iexhort that fupplications, &c. be made for all men, for Kings, and all that are in authority, that we may lead aquiet and peaceablelife,in allgodlinefs andhone/I1; fortbta isgoodandaccep- table in the fight of God our Saviour. As it is good and acceptable in the fight of God, that we fhould lead a quiet and peaceable life, in all godlinefs and honefly,under Kings and all in authority; fo that we íhould pray for Kings, and thofe that are in autho- rity. Sixthly, When children dowell requite their parents; that (faith the Apofile, t Tim. 5.4,) is acceptable unto God. Seventhly, ToPuffer patiently for well-doing, is greatlyplea- ting unto God (t Pet. 2. 20.) In a word, they amonggood men are mofi acceptable of God, who are moil zealous in doing any thing in a right manner, which for the matter isacceptable unto sod. Obferve, Thirdly ; As the Lordacceptetb fomegodly men more than others, fobe accepteth famegodly men for others. The Lord doth not fpeakhere of accepting job firi&ly for him- felf, but of his acceptation in the behalf of his friends, Him will I accept, that is,foryou; I will be intreated by hìm,l will not give you the honour tobe intreated by you, but to him I give ir, I will be intreared by him.
