And not only is it Pimple folly, which a man committeth for want of wit, or becaufe he bath little underflanding (what a man cloth for want of wit and underflanding, isfimple folly) but fin is wicked folly, which is the abufe of wit, and parts, and gifts, yea, the overflowing of lull. And though wecannot charge thefe men, that they did intentionallyufe their wit and parts to grieve job, yet it proved fo; though it was not the end or defign of them that fpake, yet it was the iffue of their fpeech ; they did him a great deal of wrong, and doubtlefs, Satan (lirred much, or pro- voked them to ufe their parts and gifts to imbitrer the fpirit of the poor man, and God left them to do it. This was their folly; and all fuch aaings or fpeakings are no better, nor do theydt- ferve better or fofter language. This word folly, is often applied inScripture, to fin, efpecially to great fins. Another word is ufed in the Proverbs of Solomon ; but in leveral other places, fin is ex- loreffed by this;Gen, 34.7.) When that great affliaion fell upon Jacob, the ravifhing of Dinah, her brethren came home very `wroth, Paying, Hehails committed folly in ¡frac!. So (Judges 19. 'z 3. Judges so. 6.) the abutnaóf the Levites Concubine is cal- led the committing of folly, '`thored'om is expreffed by folly (Deer. 2 2. zr.)
