Obferve ; It is verygood in it Pelf, and verypleating to God, when they who have yoyned in any fin or mifcarriage towards him- felf or others, joyn readily together in !hewing their far- row and repentance for it. It was a bleffed fight to fee thole three men coming as one man about this duty, not one of them drawing back, not one of them putting inany plea againft the command of God. There arc three chinas wherein it is very picolant to behold the peopleof God joyning inone. Firlf,when they joyn or are one in Opinion and Judgment, when they all think the tame thing, and are of one mind in the truth. Secondly, When they joyne together and are one inaffeetion, when they are all of one heart, though pofïìbly they are not all of one mind, or, when they meet in affedtion, though not in opinion, (Pfal. 133. i . ) Behold how, good and how pleafast it is , for brethren to dwell together inunity : And when David had fpoken admiringly of this goodly fight, he fpake declaratively concern- ing the goodnefs of it (virf. 2. ) It is like the precicscs oyntment upon thehead : 'Tis fo, firf1, forthe fweernefs of it ; 'cis fo, fe- condly, for the diffufivenefs of it (as followeth) that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron beard, that wert doten to the skirts o bù garments. Thirdly, ( which is the matter in the text) it is a bleffed thing to fee them joyning together induty, either as duty is confidered Firff, indoing that which is good ; or, when, as the Apofiles word is (.2Cor. 6. a.) they are (among themselves) workers to- gether in anygoodwork ; we fay (to fill up the Text ) wor(ert together with God. That's a bided fight indeed, when we joyne with God,and God joynet h with us in his work : It is alto a blef- fed fight, when all the Miniflers of Jefus Chrif+, and any asmem- bers of Jefus Chrift, joyn in any goodwork, in this efpecially, to befeechall we have to do with, that they receive rot the graceof Gad invain. Secondly, in turning from evil, and putting iniquity far from them ; ,praying for the pardon of fin, and making their peace With God. In this work the three in the Text joyned together. 'Tis
