Firfl, The Chaldeepara- pbraft underflands by fervants, the holy Propbets ; Prophets ( I grant } fometrmes have, and oftner would have proved unfaithful; Tome of them dilcovered rnuch,and others would have difcovered more unfaithfulnefs, if God had not mightily fupported them. Secondly, One of the &gains, underûands it in general ofany,or of all the faithful, Behold he put no truft in hi! fervants ; that is, not in any of the holiefl and faithfulletl of the childrenofmen. But the connexion of the Text carries it clearly, that by fer- vants, we are to underhand theAngels, who are called miniftring Jpirits, Hcb. r. 14. Are they not all miniftringfpiries (or fervants) fine out Pr the good of thofe that are the heirs of Salvation ? And fo the words in the dole of this verfe, are exegetical, ex- pounding who are intended by thofe fervants; Behold be put no truft in hisfervants, and his Angels he charged withfolly ; that i3,he trufied not thofe fervants the Angels,but charged themwith folly. But there isa further reafon, more fully evidencing that it mutt beunderflood of Angels, in the 19 verfe, where the perfons Handing in equal oppofition to theié fervants and Angels are men: How much left ( faith he) on them that dwell in houfs of clay : Now a dwelling in a houle of clay,is theperiphrafrs,or defcription of mankind in general, good or bad, one or other, high or low, all mankind dwells in a houfe ofclay.
