Not to be afraid ofit. Not afraid, the word lignifies any kinde of feare, holy fearing as well as natural ; here it is ufed for excefíive, diftradting feare. It is not meant, that a man fhould be fecure or fenflefs, when defiruátion cometh, So to be fearelefs, sr worfe then tobe reafonlefs. But this is the meaning, Thou (halt not be afraid ; That is, thou ¡halt not be difmayed with fear, thou shalt not be amazed or aftonifhed with fear, thou ¡halt not be at thy wits end,much lefs at thy Faiths end, when defiru6tion cometh.
