Yet, it liignifies the grave only in generalas it is na- tural to man-kind, not that grave which is artificial and proper, to any particular man ; this the Hebrew expreffes by another word : He that goeth down to the grave goes to his longhome,to a houfeout of which he is never able to fee or tomake his way, and therefo re it foliowes ; He (bait come up no more. No ?:tha't fad news indeed, to go down to the grave , and come up no more. Are all the hopesof man fhut up in thegrave ? and is there anutter end ofhim when his life ends? Shall he come up, no more? Many of the Greek writers tax lob as not acquainted with the doc rin oftheRefurreffion,as ifhe either knew not that myftery, or doubted, at this time ofit ; and Come of the Rabbins fay plain- ly, he denied it :- .Bat; he is fo clear in the 19 Chapter, that we neednot think him fo much as cloudy here : And if we look a lit- tle farther, himfelfwill give us the comment of this text : When he faith, heJhall come pep no more, it is not a denial of a dyingmans refurredion to life, but of his reftitution to the farne life, or to fuch a life as he parted with at the graves mouth : They whodie a natural death,fhall not livea natural life again;tElerefore he ad- deth in the next verfe ; ° Verle r o.
