The fight of man is fubjea tomanifold deceptions. Many things put a flop to the fight of the eye. The eye of man is in danger of as many fallacies, as the underflanding ; and the underflanding is entangled with many fallacies by the eye. But there is no errour in the fight ofGod, nor any deception of his eye; you cannot by any art or device, by any policy or hypocrite, by any masques or difguifes, by any ,fimulations or dilliwulations make that appear to him which is , aot, or make it appear to him othcrwife then it is, The heart of r++an (faith the Lord) is deceitful above all things, and defperate- wicked, who can know it ?
