Yet God who is chief above all the chiefs of the earth, taketh away, or removeth the heart: or the chief of the earth , they (hail not alwaies will what they would. A good man doth the evil which he would not and evil men do the good which they would not. God caufeth them to w 11 that the thing fliall be done, though they have no will, eitlle tò the thingor to the doing of it. Thirdly , The heart is put for courage and-fortitude. God takes away the heart under this notion ; he can make the moft valiant men cowards, and pul down the, higheftfpirits.
