Now, in oppofition to all there, the upright and holy are admitted,they have entrance into the houfe of God, they come before God, they !land in his fight, they dwell with him for ever,yea,they fhall notonly dwell as fervants, or as friends, but as fops, as his aril born, as heirs,all they fhall inherit the kingdom of God. One of the higheft priviledges promifed unto Sion is, that a time fhall come when the wicked fhall not come unto her (Ifa. 52.1.) Awake, awake, put on thy (frength, O Zion; put on thybeautifulgarments, O ferufalem, the holy crty. Wherefore matt ferufalem, the holycity, awake thus, and be ready in her drefs,inher beautiful garments ? Why,there is good news for her, For henceforth therefhall no more came into thee theuncircumcifed and the unclean: As if he had faid, Intimes ofSion: defetlion or opprefon, when there was no due reformation of warfhip, nor order among worfhippers,tben theuncircá mcifed and the unclean cameandfood,yea,even dwelt with thee, as thy own.chil- dren; but, O ferufalem, a timefhall,come when the uncircumcifed and the unclean (hall not fo mach as come into thee, they fhallbe reje£fed and calf ourfor ever. Prophane ones shall find no placeat 'aft in Sionherebelow, and hypocrites fhall never come into the Sion which is above. Some hypocrites will .come into the Church when íhe is molt refined,there is nokeepingof them our, till they difcover themfelves, and fo are calt out, or apoftati.ze, and fo go out of themfelves. Pofiïbly the Church militant may be fopurged and reformed at Iaft, that as there fhall be nopro- phane in her, fo but a few hypocrites. But into the Church triumphant, we are fure the clofeft hypocrite Thall not enter God will wafh off all the varnifh and paint which they have put 'upon theface of their profeffion with rivers of brimftone, and will give them the cup of his fierce wrath todrink untoeterni- ty. Hence Obferve, First, Hypocrites arethe worff of wicked men. Every wicked man is not bad enough to be called anhypo- crite. Hypocrites are the chief oflinners,not only the children, but the firft-born of the Devil. We may wrong a wicked man by calling him anhypocrite, butwecannot wrongany hypo:rite by
