Secondly Obferve. . Godcannot be hindred ofhis psrpoje. What he hath -a minde to do (hall be done though all the world fay no ; he gives no account of , nor can any reflraint be laid upon his anions. Ifhecall one into prifon , and inlarge an- other ; enrich one, and impoverifh another; give one honour, and lay reproach upon another, who fhall fay , What doll thou ? have often met with this point of the Soveraigntyof God, there -, fore I only touch it here. Zophar in the former words moves _Yob to confider the ut fearchable wifdome ofGod , and his unqueftionable Soveraignty; Gang thou byfearchingfinde out God, e c. If he cut off, and f bat op and gather together, who can hinder him ? Thou canft not fathome the bottomleffe abyffe of his wifdom,nor flay him in the refolved anings ofhis power. He now proceeds togive the reafon of both (for the connenion may refeer to either.) Firft He gives a reafon why man cannot reach the wifdomof God (vat.. a a.) He is vain man. And as man (hews his vanity in noting more then in his afíayes and offers to finde out the fecrets ofGod ; fo his vanity renders him under an utter impof ibility to findeout the fecrets ofGod.
