The key es lignifie power, and to thew that the life ofChrift is not a bare fubfi- fiance, but cloathed with power, therefore, as he faith, I livefor ever, fo, I have the keyes. And thus while lob Paid, I know my Redeemer liveah,he afcribed ftrength andefficiency to him as well as life. From this part of lob'sconfefion, I know that my Redee- mer liveth. Obferve. Firft, Afflitoion loth not feperatefrom Chrift. When fob could call nothing in, or of the world his, he could call Chrift his, though he could not fay, my health, my flrength, myfriends, my richer, my beautie, for he had none ofall thefe, all thefe king departed from him ; yet he could fay, My Redeemer ; ForChrift was not departed from him. This was mauls affurance, and the triumph of his faith ( Rom. 8. 35. ) Whofullfeperate usfrom the love ofChriff? fhall tribulation,or di- flref fe, or perfecution, orfamine, or nakea'nefe, or perill, orfwerd? I am perfwaded they cannot; nay in all thefe ive aremore then conque- rerr through him that loved us. UniefTe Saints wereconq. ered,yea unleffe Chrift himfelfe were conquered, they cannot be fepera- ted from Chrift. Bur all thefe thing,, the eaft of which fingle doe more then conquer worldly men., are more then conquered by holy men; and therefore notwithfiar;ding the united forces ofall thefe, the u..,ion between Chri t and Saints remaines unvío- lable.
