Man is a creature confifting ofvifible and invifble, of mor- tal] and immortali, a foule and a body. His mortali and vifible part the body fell under the arreft ofdeath, as Toone as he was tainted with fin, and by thedecree ofGod it is appoynted unto all men once to dye ; yet man fhall not aiwayes abide in this death, which is the feperation of the foule from the body. We read of a twofold refur- reetion from a twofolddeath, both effec}ed by his power, ( soh. 5. 25. 28, 29. ) The honre is coming, andnow is, when the dead(hall heare the voice ofthe Son of God, and they that heare it Jhalllive. All men are naturally dead in fn,as boon as they live in nature. And as bone as any ofthere dead heare the voyce of Chrift fpeaking by his Word and Spirit, they live in grace. Tftis is called a new birth, a nom life, as alto a Refurreltion. The honre or feafon of this fpirituall Refurrection ( faith Chrift is coming and now is, ( verle 25. ) But at the 28th and 29thVerfes, he fpeakes of a Refurreftion which was coming, but thenwas not.
