To be a lover of the Appearing ofChrift in Judgement, is the chara&er and almo4 the definiti- onof all true beleevers. N one can love it but they,and they can- not but love it. Thirdly , They are defcribed ( not fearing but) praying for it, and that not coldly but earneftly and importunately (Rev. 22. i7 ) The Spirit and the Bride (that is,the Spirit in the Bride faith, or the Spirit preffeth and provoketh the Bride to ) fay come, and let him that hearethfay, come. Wbo is thus invited tocome, and for what to came ? The perfon invited to come, is Chrift, and he is invited to come to fulfill a :I the Prophecies of that Book revealed to john, and therefore to come to judge- ment, which as it is there Prophecyed, fo it will be the utmoft fulfilling of all the Prophecies. And to thew that Chrift ap- proved and accepted this earneft prayer of the Bride for his comming ., he anfwers ( at the zo'h Verfe) He which eeffi `;eth thefe things ( and that is none but Chrift, The Amen, thefaithfull and true Witn, ffe ( Rev. 3. 14. )he (I fay) anfwers, and ) faith, Surely I come quickly, and this is the third time that he faith it in this Chapter ;for he had Paid, verf. 7th, and againe, y. 12th, Behold, I come quickly. Which threefold promife ofhis comming quickly, is fealed up with, Amen, and the prayer of ?ohm, fecond- i.ng the Churches prayer, Even fa, come Lord 7efus. What long- ing is there for his comming, who having been prayed to come, promifeth to come quickly, and is yet againe prayed to come. The preparations and prognoftickes of the comming ofChrift, are dreadfully fet downe, to the amazement of the world, (Lrk, ai. 25, z6.) There fballbefignes in the Sunne,and in the Maÿne, and in the Starres, and upan the earth, dif}reffe of Nations, &c. mens hearts ( that is, the hearts of the"men of the earth,or of earthlyminded men ) failing them forfeare, andfsr looking after thole things which are comming on the earth,&c. And then fball they fee the Sonne ofman coming ina Cloud with power andgreat glory. This glory and terror of the coming of Chrift, which (hall da- zle the eyes and aftonifh the hearts ofall that knownot God, (hall be delight to the eyes, and rejoyce the hearts ofall that obey him.
