We fhould feare the judgements of God while threatned° and only heard of What though we fee them not ? What thoughOfeele themnot ? What though we arenot the per foes intenáed in them, or to be (mitten by them ? yet the report of them as direted again{} others fhouldmake us tremble,When God threatned the old world with the flood, Noahwas excep- ted, yet tuch was the temper ofhis fpirit. that though he were the only favourite ofGod in all that age, yet his very hearing of that judgement ( which he was affured not to feele ) had this ef- fect upon him (Heb. s; 7.) By faith Noah being warned of god, ofthings notPeen asyet, moved withfeare, prepared an Ark to thefaving of his houfe. He heard andwas afraid oftheJudge. ment, therefore he applied himfelfe to thofe meaner which God haddirected him to for the faving of himfelfe and family. We reade (Revel.14.. 7.) ofavifion which ?ohm had : Ifare an eidngel flie in the middefl ofheaven, having the everlatingGef feel to preach to them that dwell on the earth, and to every Nation, and kioared, and tongue, and people, Paying, feare God, andgiveglory to him,. Why? for the honre ofhis judgement is come. When God fends the everlafl:ing Golpe!! to be preached, hecalls it the honre ofhis judgement. The preaching of the Go(pe! is the hour of mercy fò fome, but it is the hour of wrath toothers, even to all refufers and contemners. Upon this denunciation or threatning of judgement, which fhould overtake the fleighters, and neg- leetersofthe Gofpel, all are warned to feare God, and give glory to him.
