Vert i .09 ( faith David ) had almff flipt when !jaw theprofperity of the wicked, when thewicked and unholy were not purifhed prefendiy according to Juftíce,hewas urged and tempted to think that Gud :did not regard juftice, nor declare himfelfe in his holineffc as 14e ought. And though the Prophet ?eremiabdura not queftion the rightcoufneffe ofGod,yet he knewnot (in this cafe) how to give an account ofit,as bath been noted heretofore from his queftion- ings (Ter. i Z. i, z.) why doth the wayofthe ickedprc jeer ? &c. And with this the following parts ofthe Chapter feem to carry a faire correfpondence, wherein he enumerates many groffe praai- fes and impieties ofwicked men,uotwithftandingwhich they pals out ofthis world in worldly peace.
