God (hewing at the publication of the Law, how terrible he would be to the tranfgreffors of it. Yea when God gave a te(limony to his fon from heaven (Luke 9.3 5.) Therecame a voice out of the cloud,faying, this is my beloved Son, hear him. This ipeaking from the cloud the Jews call (t7`p ri3) Thedaughter of a voice,it being asit were a middle or whifpering Thunder. And when a like voice came from heaven (inanfwec to Chria prayer, Father, lorifie thy name) faying,l have both glorified it, and will glorifie it again ; The people thatflood by and beard it, fail that it thundered ( John ca. 28,29, ) Thus alto the great thinswhich God will do in the world are givenoutby Thunder (Rev. 10. 3.) Thefevers Thunderers uttered their voices ; and (Chap. it. i 9.) whenthe Temple of God was opened in bea- ven, tbers were lightnings and voices and thundering!. Signifying, what dreadful things God would doe, what terrible things in righteoufnefs againft the world, as alío for the vindication of his own name and people.
