The upright are fecret ones, and the fe- rao,,7y in de- b of God is witn them. Our tranflation gives this fenfe fully; mo meatan- when thefecret of God was upon my Tabernacle; as if he had laid, quam in foda1i O that it werewith meas when God gave mefecret counfel, or open- I' aóáurus,ver- ed his heart to me upon all area/ions. There is a twofold fecret of God. Firft, the fecret of his word; fecondly, the fecret of his works, or the fecret of his counfel, and the fecret of his providence. Both there were upon the Taberna- cle or cent of Tob.There was the fecret of the word,or of the re- vealed will of God. We may have the word which contains the will of God, yet not know the fecret of God in it. The word of God is the Covenant of God,and thçCovenant.is called amiftery, that is, a fecret. This fecret of Godwas upon jobs Tabernacle, chat is, Godmade known his mind to him, and (hewed him,, as what himfelf would doe for him in mercy, fo what jobought to doe for him in duty. This intimacy and fweec fellowfhip with Godjob redonnts with thankfullnefs, and begs the renewing of it as bis happinefs ; he cloth not with tobe hap- pier thenwhen the fecret of God was withhim. Hence Obferve ; Firfl, Saints are acquainted with the fecrets,of god, (Pfal. 25. 14.) The fecret of the Lord is with them that fear him, &c.
