Chap. 29. Expofition uport the Book of Jo a. Verf. 12. 5i7 Tr help tls fe that have none to help thews , is the roblefl way ofbelping. This is to help as Chrï l hclpeth, aend deliver as Chri(} deli- vereth ; Cutiti Jcfus helped us when there was none to helpus ; Hedelivered us when none could deliver us ; if all the Angelis in heaven had offered themfelves rohelp us, they could not , much leffe could any amoug.the inferior creatures give us help. 1 have laid help (faith God, Pfah. 89; 194 upon one that íe meghty ; 1 have exalted onechefen out of the people. David wives a mig iyman, and he is there fpoken of in the PI-aimas a type of the mighty God our helper Jefus Chri(l : He only :had might enough to help us, when we had none to help us.. And the depth of his humilia- tion, when he came to help us, is fet forth by this, chat he had none to helphim ; fo he rbempaneth himfelf in that other Propheti- cal Palm (69.20.) There arc two Scriptures which (whether they be underfiood of fpiritual and eternal deliveranceby ChriR , or of corporal and temporal deliverance) doe both fully prove and clearly iilurrate this truth. (Ifa. 59. 16.)
