But it may be obje&ed, Is there an end of forrow when we goe to the grave ? Ianfwer; There is in reference to the godly , or true belie- vers ; There's an end alto of bodyly fufferings to the wickcd, theyknow no more chofe kind of lufferings which they felt in the world,when once they are houfed in the grave; yet then they are under the workof fufferings;for though God will not ttretch forth his hand to the grave, to afiii& their bodies, yet he will ketch forth his hand to hell to aflli& their foules. It is a miferable comfort that many carnal! men take to themfelves in their prefent forrows and fufferings; O ( fay they) we (ball dye fhortly, and then we (hailbe out of our paines ; Alas 1 when wicked men dye , though they get out ofone kinde ofpaine, and mifery, yet they fall into thole mile- ries which are a thoufand times worfe ; Thy goe out of the fcorchingSunne into the confirming fire ; all the mifery they in- dure on this tide the grave, is but as the excefíive heate of the Sun, to the hotteft fire, in compariton ofwhat they (hall indure.
