Firfi, that our calling be lawful and agreeable toGods Will,andWord: filch an one as our labour in it may tend to Gods glory, and to the good of the Church and Common-wealth, and the furthering, not onlyof our tempo- ral,but our fpiritual good,and the eternal falvation ofour fouls. Secondly , that we be in fomemeafurequalified with fuch gifts as are fit for our callings:for whenGod calleth men CO any place,he furnifheth themwith fuch competencyof gifts, as that they mayprofitably performe the duties required in it : that we maywith cheerfulneffe and comfort goon in it, expedting his blef- fing upon our labours,and in the end of our lives a rich reward for doing him therein faithful fervice.
