The inward intention of the minde, wherein God is conceived as an abfolute and omnipotent Lord, knowing all things, yea, the heart of man, hearing all our prayers, at all times, in all places, and being the Author, Pre- ferver, and Giver of all good. The outwardprohrating of the body, asbowing the knee, liftingup the hands, &c. to teftifie our fubjettton unto God as our abfolute Lord. Quest. what is Civil Adoration ? e/Infw. The inward intention of the minde, which mutt be this : that the creature wor hipped is endued with excellent gifts by God, or that he bath Pow- er and Government over us. The A&ion, or outwardgeftureof thebody, in token that the creature wor- (hipped is endued with excellent gifts, and graced with authority over us.
