SELINA, COUNTESS OF HUNTINGDON, received the warning to look forward to her death as likely to happen at no very distant time ; and she therefore made her will, disposing of almost her whole property for the service to which it had been devoted during her lifetime. Having thus provided for the well-being of her " Connexion," the ardent Servant of God calmly awaited the summons of her Master. Two faithful friends now constantly resided with her-Miss Hannah Scutt and Lady Anne Erskine, sister of the Earl of Buchan. One of her children only was living-Elizabeth, Countess of Moira ; for her eldest son had died some few years previously. With comfort and every happy anti- cipation she awaited the close of her life of faith and holiness ; and at length the hour of her call approached. In November, 1790, she broke a blood-vessel ; and this was the commencement of the illness which terminated her earthly career - an illness which she bore with exemplary patience and piety. Being asked one day, by Lady Anne, how she felt, she replied, " All is well-well for ever. I see, wherever I turn my eyes, whether I live or die, nothing but victory." Again, she re- marked with grateful joy, " I am encircled in the arms of love and mercy !" About two weeks before she died, she was in high spirits, and talked of going to Wales.
