oppofethnot Gods Mercy, 287 to extend the effe6is of his mercy unto all, but he alwayes guideth the difpenfation thereof according to the abfolute and free decrees of his own, will : So that the na- turalneffe of his mercy hindercth not the limiting of that fpeciall mercy which flow- eth from Election unto fuch ,fingular per- fons as himfelf intendeth it unto ; neither Both it forbid him to withhold the fame from filch fingular perfons as he hath de- creed to paffe-by in the difpenfation there- of. And this abfolute libertie and fupreme dominion which God bath in the preparing or not- preparingof effecîuall grace, where- in the abfolute decrees of EleEtion &Non- ele6ion do thew themfelves , is a thing as naturadl and as pleafing unto God as his Mercy. As for vindicative Juftice , it maybe cal- led a ,grange work, becanfe it is opus occafio-- natum by mans tranfgreffion. But as Prede- fination is no ad of remunerative Juflice, no more is negative Reprobation or Non- el eaion ofvindicative futtice :but they are bothas of Gods abfolute dominion and free libertie, in giving or withholding his own according to his own will and plea- fure. God is morefrequent and forward in the D exercif of his Mercy and Bounty then of his Anger andvindicative Juftice. A
