overthroweth not Gods 3ufiice. rules of humane juftice onely, can fay of God, as we may of an earthly Judge, ifhe decree this, he decreethjufily; ifhe loth this, be doth jufily : but if he decreeth or doth other- wife, he decreeth or doth unjufily ; becaufe where God hath not limited himfelf in his manner ofdealing withmenby his revealed word, there that is alwayes o juft quadachua- liter volitum eft Divina voluntate, & quia aólualiter volitum efi á Divina voluntate. It is true, God cannot decree nor will any thing but falv:î juftitiá; that is, He can do nothing contrajuflitiam : yet he may decree and do many things przeter juflitiam: he may freely decree anddo many things wherefal- vá jufiitiâ he might as freely have decreed and done the contrary. Gods will revealed is a rule of juftice to us., & he commandeth us nothing contrarie to this rule : But Gods own abfolute will is it which regulateth his dealings with us in all thole things where he hathnot made himfelfas it were a debter by force revealed ordinance of his own making. Now the Predeftination ofAbel and the Preterition of Cain were decrees regulatedbyno former promifes or indent- ments : and hence it followeth that it had been no aet of injuftice in God which way foever he had decreed.
