For all this thenot-eleCt an- gels hadapoffibilityofnot rebelling againft God, a poffibility of atteining eternall hap- pinefl'e had they not rebelled, a fúificiency of Divine grace given them tohave prefer- ved them from rebellion, had they not by a voluntary at of their own abufed that grace. And to come to the eternall and im- mutable decrees of Predeflination and Re- probation, as they concern fingular perfons quoad numerurn numerantem& numerator, eternallyand immutably dihinguithed in ele- c os reprobatoc; This eternall decree hin- dered not God from creating Adam:with a fufficiencie of grace , with a poffibilitie of handing, and by handing of preferving his pofterity in the hateof righteoufneffe, and fo bringing them to an eílate of happi- nelfe.
