Againft bothwhich tentations, it behooueth the hum- bled (inner toarme himfelfe that he mayrepell them, when theyare fuggetted ; and to this purpofe that hee mayproue his repentance true and vnfained, hee is to take a true fearch ofhis owne heart and confcience, and to examinehis repen tance according to fornevndoubted figneswhichmay ferue as touchftones todifcoucrwhether it bee true and vnfained, or diffembled andhypocriticall.
