The fecond fort are taken from finnes committed voluntarilie againft our knowledge and confcience; which ifwe haue fallen in- to,heprefently fuggefieth that wee haue finned prefumptu- ouflyagainfi God,and therefore cannot be reckoned in the number of Gods children, nor conceiue any hope of par- don and forgiuenefhe. For the anfwering vnto which temp tation,wc are to know thefe two things; firfi, thatall finnes committed againfl knowledge andconfcience,are not pre- fumptuous : fcondlie,that thoughwe fhould fall into pre- fumptuous flumes, yet we maybethe children ofGod, who areneither debarredoftrae repentance norof Godsmercie..
