Si very continua's 6. 4crebr4s orationes facies, to- tûmque tempos interpolans frequentiâ , facile poteris modefliam exhibere, & ipf s orationes cum multa facies folertia : He that prayeth unto God let him not make long fpeeches, nor draw out his prayer into length, but let himutter few and fimple words: For his hope of being heard is not placed in multitude of words, but in the right difpofition of the mind. Therefore he that prayeth mull not extend his fpeech to a great length in a continued prayer : For our Saviour Chrifl and S. Paul have injoyned short and frequent prayers to be made, with fmall paufes between them; for if thou draw,out thy fpeech in a continued length, thou wilt become negligent, and wilt give great occafion to the devil of ílealing in and of fupplanting thee, and of withdrawing thy thoughts from thofe things which are fpoken.
