And as we are to do the will of God in generali, fo more efpecially thofe branches of his will which after a more fpeciall manner are called his will. His will is , if we would be faved, we fhould come to the knowledge of his truth,and not live in ignorance, i. Tim. 2.4. that we fhould turn unto him, and not go on in our fumes , Ezek. 33. that we fhould believe in Chrift, 1. John 3.2 3. that we fhould be fantified, dying unto finne, and living unto righteoufne, i. Theft4.3. Mich. 6.8. t. Pet. 2. 15. that we fhould be patient in troubles, and thankfull unto him in all things, I. Theff.5. 18. And as we are to do the will of God, fo mull we deny our own wills and renounce the delires of the world. Duties re fpec`ing the manner. And as touching the manner; We are not to real in opere operato,in the deed done: but as we pray that we may do the will of God on earth as the angels do it in heaven, fo muff we endevour to imitate their manner of obedience.
