Vs] that is, not onely me that pray, but alto the reft of my brethren. We are to pray not onely for private benefits, as food, apparel , health , peace, good name, &c. but alfo for publick bleß'ings, as plenty, profpe- rity and peace, Pfal. 144. 13, 14. and 122. 6, 7. Jer. 29.7. 3. We are to efieem that what good thing fo- ever God hath given to any one of us, that he bath given it unto us, that is, the body, whereof all be members: and therefore that we fhould not envy the profperity of others, nor yet envy to communi- cate thole good things which we have unto others, conidering that what I have received I am to eíleem it as given not to me alone but to us.
