By our debters is meant fuch as have offended or wronged us, or, as the Apofile fpeaketh Co1.3. 13. againfi whom we have any quarrel. But what debters am I to forgivermay fome bo- dy fay. I can be content fometimes to put up an injury at the hands ofmy better; but I cannot brook that my equall fhould crow over me, or that mine inferiour should be too fawcie with me. I can be content to remit force offenfes; but great indignities I cannot put up. Anfn. Anfiv. Our Saviour fpeaketh indefinitely and ge- nerally without difference of debters : fo that who- foever is our debter, we mutt forgive him if we would have affurance that God hath forgiven our finnes.
